The origins of Pilates

Pilates was created by Joseph Pilates and is based on his strong belief that the spine is the epicentre of our body's movement. The Pilates system is based around strengthening and recruiting the support structure of the spine and is the perfect method to counteract the negative impact our modern lifestyle have on this essential support network.

The exercises involve the muscles that make up the abdomen, pelvic structure, shoulders, arms and back.
